This special area consists of many indigenous species of plants and trees. In the heart of this 80 acre green jewel, a 17 acre pollution-free lake teems silently and amply stocked with pike, roach, perch and tench, while the echo of many bird species will delight the solitary stroller.

Also in the area is the Templemore Town Park with offers complex Pitch & Putt, Picnic Areas, outdoor Swimming facilities, Athletic track as well as Playing fields with tons of free parking. Where there is fish in abundance you will also have the long legged heron and these can be seen nesting in the upper region of the lake, despite the proximity to the urban area.

The Lake at Templemore Town Park The Tennis club has tastefully laid out floodlit all weather courts, in close proximity to the golf club. The indoor swimming pool is situated within the grounds of the Garda College with limited access to the Public. The local schools obtain great benefit from the use of this facility, and the ratio of swimmer to non-swimmer in the town is amongst the highest in the country. For the indoor enthusiast, you could consider Snooker or Billiards in the local Confraternity Hall, or if too quiet, perhaps one might consider Badminton in Kennedy's Hall. Bridge is well catered for with games every Wednesday from October to May in the local hotel.
